Psalm 139 – God is there for us

Psalm 139 reminds us no matter how hard some try, we can never hide from God. God knows all about us and He made us! Psalm 139 is best looked at in four parts; Verses 1-6 – God knows all about us, Verses 7-12 – We cannot hide from God, Verses 13-18 – God created (made) us, Verses 19-24 – David prays about his enemies and himself.

“Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely.” ~ Psalm 139:4

“If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.” ~ Psalm 139:9-10

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” ~ Psalm 139:14

“Search me, God, and know my heart;test me and know my anxious thoughts.” ~ Psalm 139:23.

Prayer: Father God, I pray that I may be led into your presence each day seo that I may better understand the works of your hands. I pray that I will never forget just how much you value me, even though in my sinful nature I can often think the worst about myself. I praise you because as it is in Psalm, ‘I am fearfully and wonderfully made;’ I recognize this and want to live out whole heatedly. Search me God, and test me, and know my anxious thoughts. Amen.

Isn’t it such a blessing knowing that throughout all the struggles in our life the Lord knows our thoughts. I suppose, although we may be alone and not in the presence of others at times, we will always have our great Father who knows everything.
